Estero, located between Fort Myers and Naples, is a village along the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico in Lee County, Florida. The name Estero was derived from the Spanish word for estuary, which means where a river meets the sea. The village, which encompasses an area of 25.37 square miles, was settled along the shores of the Estero River, formerly Estero Creek, in the 1970s. It is a close-knit community that is known for the large amount of citrus grown in the area, and home to over 18,000 people, as well as the Florida Gulf Coast University.
Estero real estate options include luxury estate homes, beautiful single-family homes situated on large pieces of property and townhomes in gated and non-gated communities. The communities are friendly and offer residents several facilities for engaging activities, including children’s playgrounds, sports fields, and more.
